Unfortunately you cannot prevent yourself from becoming a victim. It could strike at any time. You can, however, take preventative measures and make sure that you are limiting the chances the thieves have of making you a victim. This means that you protect all your information, you make sure that only legit companies handle your information and they handle it wisely. Do not just throw your information around, because identity thieves will be there to catch it. Take your time and really look to take action to help yourself. This is the only way that you can limit the chances they have of getting to you.
